After starting with classical piano at age nine, Toni was lured over to keyboards in his early teens. He would often try to replicate the complex soundscapes of 70s keyboards from such artists as Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre, Pink Floyd & Rick Wakeman. This is when he began to hone his skills of accurately reproducing the sounds of other artists. When it comes to replicating the sound and feel of Pink Floyd, his accuracy and attention to detail is unsurpassed. He will often spend many days/weeks/months replicating the sound and playing style of a Rick Wright keyboard part. When you hear his intro to Shine-On You Crazy Diamond, you’ll see exactly what we mean.
To allow the faithful reproduction of the many synths, electric pianos, Hammond organs etc that Rick used over the years, Toni uses only the very best keyboards that Korg have to offer, including their flagship Kronos. Whether it’s the powerful sound in Time, Money or One Of These Days, or the subtle, soothing sounds of Great Gig, Breath or Hey You, Toni has it all faithfully covered.
